So in homage to Erin Bailey at Scandalous Beauty, YouTube guru and creator of the 30-Day YouTube Challenge, I tried a simple bronze look that Erin posted yesterday as one of her Challenge videos. Check out her video here.
I followed the same steps as Erin, by first mixing my own tinted moisturizer, using one part moisturizer (I used Avon ANEW Reversalist Renewal Day Cream) and one part liquid foundation. Normally, I would have used my favorite foundation, Estee Lauder Double Wear Light in Intensity 6, but I decided to try my new foundation, CoverGirl NatureLuxe Silk Foundation in Brazilnut.
First of all, I must say that I was researching tinted moisturizers, and was waiting to get to a Laura Mercier counter to find the right shade and wear it this summer. But after watching Erin’s video, I decided to keep my $42 and make my own. So Erin, my wallet (and my husband) thanks you! Secondly, I have to say that this CoverGirl foundation is pretty neat. The color is a good match, even if I wore it straight and without mixing into the moisturizer. I am not a snob when it comes to drug store makeup, but I usually stay away from drug store foundation. I admit that this product is pretty good – it leaves a nice finish and it smells good too – like refreshing botanicals. AND I just bought it at CVS yesterday for $14.99, AND it was buy one, get one 50% off!! To finish the look, I used the following products:
Iman Second-to-None Semi-Loose powder in Earth Medium
MAC Kohl liner in Feline (lower water line and upper lash line)
Maybelline Falsies Mascara in Blackest Black
NARS Exhibit A (my FAVORITE blush!)
Milani Baked Bronzer – Golden
MAC Lip Liner – Chestnut
NARS Lip Gloss – Giza
I don’t think I’ll actually get to do the tutorial video, but my challenge might just have to be fulfilled through my blog today (yeah, I know…I took the lazy way out!). BUT…I’m posting pictures of my look:
